Systems Accountant

Job Summary:
Acts as the key link between finance and IT, ensuring the effective operation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of our ERP and financial systems. Proactively manages, optimises, and continuously improves ERP and financial systems, enabling the Group to always run efficiently and effectively. All activities and decisions are made in accordance with our business philosophy and organisational values.
Key Objectives:
- Collaborate with IT, finance, and business stakeholders to deliver system enhancements and projects.
- Lead the administration, optimisation, and continuous improvement of ERP and financial systems.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial data within the ERP environment.
- Support the design, testing, and implementation of new acquisitions within our ERP System
- Provide expert technical support and training to finance and business users.
- Drive process automation and efficiency across finance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA).
- Act as the finance lead on ERP implementation, upgrade, and integration projects.
- Ensure financial data integrity, compliance with accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, providing expert support to users.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Train and support finance and business staff on ERP system usage and best practices.
- Liaise with external vendors and consultants on system-related projects.
- Maintain robust documentation for ERP processes, user guides, and system changes.
- Support audit, statutory reporting, and internal control processes through effective system management.
- Stay abreast of ERP technology trends and recommend system enhancements.
- Actively demonstrate and make decisions in accordance with our business philosophy, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s values and principles in all aspects of system and financial management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Information Systems (or equivalent experience).
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) preferred.
- ERP system certification (desirable)
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in ERP system administration, implementation, or optimisation.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience with BI/reporting tools is an advantage.
- Experience in process automation and improvement.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
